___bluebull DBU plans preview weekend. High school juniors and seniors can learn more about Dallas Baptist University during Patriot Weekend Nov. 12-13. The program for prospective students and their parents costs $20 and includes lodging, meals and a T-shirt. For information, call (800) 333-5360.
___bluebull Baylor dedicates student center. Baylor University dedicated its new $21 million McLane Student Life Complex Sept. 25. The 155,000-square-foot facility was named for the Drayton McLane family of Temple.
___bluebull Baylor alumni event set. Baylor University's annual alumni reception during the Baptist General Convention of Texas annual session will be Monday, Nov. 9 from 9-10:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church of El Paso. For more information, call (254) 710-1121.
___bluebull Baylor regents meet. Tuition at Baylor University will increase 7.9 percent next year, to $355 per semester hour. The tuition increase was one of several actions taken by the Baylor board of regents during their Sept. 17 meeting. Trustees also approved a $30 million construction budget for the new Umphrey Law Center. Two-thirds of that amount has been given by Sheila and Walter Umphrey of Beaumont and John Eddie Williams and Harold Nix.

A banquet highlighting the partnership between Texas Baptists and the Minnesota-Wisconsin Baptist Convention is planned for Monday, Nov. 8, at 5:15 p.m. at the Camino Real Hotel in El Paso.
